Every day, 2.5 quintillion bits of data are generated. Making sense of the vast amount of data is a major challenge. Business leaders need the appropriate tools to make educated decisions to grow and be successful. Sharing data can cut down on the number of silos, increase productivity, speed up the time to analysis, and cut the time needed to analyze.
It’s not enough to have a good purpose for sharing data. You need to know what you want to achieve. According to the Gartner Sixth Annual Chief Data Officer Survey (PDF), companies that successfully promote sharing data can provide 1.7 times as much value as their competitors.
The second meta-dimension is interpretability. It refers to the degree to which an item of information can be comprehended. This can vary depending on the theme or pattern of B2G data sharing. For instance, when working with sensitive data, it’s essential to have a high degree of interpretation than when monitoring an event in the present where accuracy may take priority over timeliness.
Finally, continuity refers to the capacity of a particular B2G data sharing event to guarantee that the flow of information is uninterrupted. It can be of different importance based on the topic or pattern of the scenario. For example, continuity may be crucial when you are observing a phenomenon for a long time. However, it is not as crucial in research. In both instances a taxonomy must include this indicator.
